Pollen tends to stick to everything. Bees when gathering nectar and pollen in the community tend to have pollen get stuck on them. When they go in the hive to deposit the pollen and nectar, the pollen gets stuck in places. Sometimes it gets stuck in honey. When you eat honey that small amount of pollen gets eaten along with it. Your body gets a chance to learn how to handle that type of allergy before you get a higher dose later on much like a natural vaccine.
Bees tend to fly after sources of nectar and pollen. Nectar forms the basis for honey production (carbohydrates). Pollen is used for food (protein) for young and developing bees. They are opportunistic and will send gatherers into all areas around the hive looking for resources. When they find something that would be good they do a special dance, the waggle, showing their family members where to go and how far to go. Typically bees will fly 3-5 miles around the hive depending on the availability of the resources. If they find a resource closer they will send more workers into the area to gather. They send bees in all directions.
Cattle are normally processed in halves, cut down the middle. Sourcing your meat is important when you want a good quality cow, not cows. Sometimes when a company is selling lots of beef it is easy to mix cuts from other cows to even out the yields. If someone is selling individual cuts from the cow they can add other cuts not normally selling well to the mix.
Typically cows or steers are processed at 1000lbs to 1200lbs and are normally under 2 years old. About 70% of that is what you get after they remove the entrails and skin. If you want just meat it goes down to about 60%.
